All applications should be dropped into the GKGHA mailbox at the
Invista Centre. They should be placed in a sealed envelope and the envelope should be labeled: "GKGHA Coaching Application". They will be distributed intact to the Independent Coaching Selection Committee.
Deadline for submission of coaching applications for all Tier I and
Tier II teams - Tuesday, January 5, 2010
Please note the Spring Tryouts are as follows:
Spring Tryouts - Tentatively April 12th to April 25th, 2010
- Tier I - Atom, Peewee, Bantam, Midget
- Tier II - Midget
All positions on these teams will be filled during these tryouts. Players must be present at the tryouts to be considered for the team.
Tryouts for other Tier II teams will be held in the Fall.
Teams play in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League (LLFHL) or Ottawa District Women's Hockey Association (ODWHA).
UNIFORM INFORMATION:
- GKGHA socks are 'Boston' colours
Coaches:
All team staff members on the ice must wear helmets with the chin straps fastened.
Winter travel Guidelines
The purpose of this guideline is to provide guidance to GKGHA teams travelling during the winter months when there is a greater potential for inclement weather.
It is our recommendation, that teams utilize a bussing service to travel to games occurring over one hour drive from Kingston. The cost of chartering a bus is more economical than individual families driving to distant locations. Teams arrive safe and relaxed. Also, teams travelling together get a chance to bond as a team and ultimately form strong friendships.
On an annual basis, the Competitive Convenor will tender and select transportation suppliers that will best serve the geographical areas that our GKGHA teams will play in.
