PeeWee Blue, KOPI Sports Medicine, wins in Ottawa!

After a rocky start on February 8th, PeeWee Blue went on to win the Ottawa Capital Classics Tournament in Ottawa. With the weather wreaking havoc on safe travel, the team played its first game with only 7 girls and no goalie, and miraculously came away with a 1 - 0 win. With 9 on the roster for game 2, but still no goalie, they were victorious again against Kemptville. The team was excited to see their goalie and another player arrive on Saturday and tied their third game to make it into the semi-finals. Winning a shootout 2 - 1 in the semis put the team into the finals against the Kingston IceWolves White team. The final game was hard fought with Blue coming away with a 1- 0 win to take Gold. Congratulations girls!!

Midget Black Rocks Aurora!

The midget black train steam rolled through Central York on the weekend, defeating the top ranked City of Sudbury team 3 to 1 in the Aurora Panthers tournament finals to win gold for the 2nd time this year. Sudbury King Sports have only lost once all year in league play. With 8 of 12 being 1st year players, Kingston looked like a veteran squad the way they dominated the play. The young Ice Wolves team went undefeated and played an excellent team defence (allowing only 3 goals) and an unstopable attack (scoring 12). Kianna Mau was unbelievable in nets coming home with 3 shut outs and some really big saves! The Ice Wolves came out in 1st place in the division, then defeated Sudbury Tigers 1 to 0 in the semi finals to move to the finals.
